Sometimes I really have to pinch myself after a newborn session…I just can’t believe that getting to spend these precious moments with my clients is my job.  And let’s not even talk about all the newborn snuggles I get from week to week.  True, I get usually get peed on too, but it really is all worth it.  I had such fun with Ellie and her new family at her in-home session…especially with her big fur sister Cocoa.  As you will see, Cocoa was the sleepy one and it took us a while to get Miss Ellie settled.  But once she did, she was the perfect model.  Choosing favorites to blog was no easy task.

I consider myself incredibly blessed to be able to be a part of, and capture forever, the most special times in my clients’ lives.  Maternity sessions always remind me of this, and Meghan’s session was no different.  She wanted a mix of in-studio and outdoor images, so we headed out to the backyard of the studio (in the rain!!) and then ventured inside.  I can’t decide which ones I like better, but I’m so glad that I was able to offer her both.  Such fun!

Ok, this is like record blogging time for me (given that I just met precious Sean 10 days ago), but I just had to put together this post for mom.  When Maryellen contacted me for a newborn session for her March due date, I was saddened to tell her that I was completely booked up for March babies.  I REALLY dislike turning clients away, but my March schedule was and is completely packed.  As luck would have it however, Sean decided that he wanted to make a very early entrance to the world and was born healthy though tiny at only 33 weeks!  I was so thrilled to hear that he was heading home from the hospital so soon AND that I was going to be able to take his photos!!  He seriously is the most perfect and precious 5 lbs that have ever been in my hands.  It was such an honor to be a part of documenting this time in his life.   So yea, I’m pretty much in love with him and wouldn’t mind if he was my son-in-law one day…

I’m so excited to finally get to blog Rebecca’s mini maternity session from February.  As I write this, I am also prepping for her newborn session on Friday, as she had a sweet baby girl last week!  I just love, love, love seeing my clients pregnant and  then having the honor of capturing the most special time in their lives as they welcome their little ones.  It’s why I offer mini maternity sessions as an add on to all of my newborn clients.  Mini Maternity sessions are about 25 minutes long and include 10-15 edited images in a gallery for sharing and print/image ordering.

I’ve posted about this on my Facebook Page, but I figured I should probably post this here too.  I’ll be on maternity leave from March 30th-May 15th as I welcome our second baby girl into our family!  I am currently booked for sessions through June 1st, and already booking into July.  I am beyond excited for spring and summer portrait sessions, and of course,  summer weddings!  Please continue to use the contact button on my site, or email me at info@alex-christine.com to reserve sessions and newborn due dates from June 1st on.  Oh, and I promise lots of sneak peeks of my new family of 4 on my Facebook Page, so be sure to become a fan.  I miiiight even be announcing a summer mini session date there as well!

I have 4 newborns, maternity sessions, and a few family sessions left before leave, so stayed tuned.  Until then, the leading lady in our house for now, miss Adalyn.  These images make me excited about being stuck inside with my camera and my girls.  🙂
